The Affordable Connectivity Program stopped accepting new applications as of February 7, 2024. The Federal Communications Commission released an Order on January 11 announcing the enrollment freeze.
Households enrolled in the ACP will continue to receive the benefit on their internet service until the program ends. April 2024 is the last fully funded month of the program. Your internet company will let you know when the discount on your monthly bill will end.
If you applied for the ACP and signed up with an internet company before February 7, 2024, then you will continue to receive your benefit until the program ends. The last fully funded month of the program is April 2024.
Your internet company is required to provide information about the last internet bill that will include your ACP benefit and tell you what the impact on your bill will be if you continue to receive internet service from them.
You can choose to continue your internet service and pay a monthly bill, to change plans, or to quit receiving internet from your provider.
Yes. To continue to receive your benefit you still need to recertify. If you do not recertify your benefit, you will not be able to re-apply for the program at this time.
Learn more about how to recertify.
- You can choose the plan that is best for you, even if it’s the same one you already have. The company that provides your internet cannot make you use a plan that is more expensive or lower quality.
- You can get access to supported internet services regardless of your credit status, past due balances, or prior debt.
- You can change internet companies or plans once a month. You don’t have to pay extra if you switch.
- You can ask for help from your internet company. If the company is unresponsive or does not help you, you can file a complaint with the FCC.

You may also be eligible for the FCC’s Lifeline program, which offers up to $9.25 a month off phone, internet, or bundled phone and internet services (up to $34.25 if you live on qualifying Tribal lands). Not all ACP recipients will qualify for Lifeline and not all ACP internet companies participate in the Lifeline program. To learn more and apply, visit LifelineSupport.org.
